Species Description: Roshi's most distinctive feature is there head. The skull is elongated and pointed up, with a row of spines down the center. Their hair only grows in small patches towards the end of their head so it is spiked to match their spikes. The empty spaces of their skin, namely their protruding forehead and the side where no hair grows, is often used to decorate with tattoos. This evolved from their ancestors ancient tradition of war paint that was applied before tribal battles, but is now they serve no other purpose than decoration. Roshi has four arms, one small set just off their shoulders, which have three small pointed fingers, and a larger set below which has three long, thick fingers. Their larger arms are very steady and can hold a piece of paper steady enough for the smaller arms to write perfectly. It is very awkward for the Roshi to try and use their smaller more precise hands on a table surface as they have to hunch over to reach. In addition the Roshi are noted for their large thick legs. They have no toes or ankles, just large trunk-link legs which are good for keeping them steady in the water around their home. The "foot" of their legs is also usually tattooed..

Male and female Roshi are regarded as equals, with more of the men taking care of the housework and children. All Roshi seem to have a wanderlust, some more than others. It is most prominent in women, and female Roshi scientists were the first to discover interplanetary travel. The first space craft was flown by a small group of women who traveled to the next planet over. The planet was dead and was mostly dust, but the success of the travel is still widely celebrated among the Roshi and has even gained it's own holiday. Since then space travel advancements have sky-rocketed. The Roshi with extreme wanderlust have signed on to help, while others prefer to only go so far as leaving the cities for years at a time. A small amount may never even leave the city at all.

Habitat Description: The planet of Roshine is completely covered in a deep purple water. Roshi scientist speculate that there was once land above the water but it has all sunk over time. They build their houses on top of the shallowest water, but keep their doors well above the surface for when tide comes in. If the water is low, they go down the stairs from their door and walk about the city, but when the water is so high it reaches the edge of their doors, they travel in small individual boats, not unlike a smaller version of a gondola. In the cities in hardly ever rains, and always at night. Most Roshi live in the cities on the shallow land, but there are still some who live on house-boats and travel the large seas. They live off the sea animals they find or trade for food when they pass by a city. Teenage Roshi often over-glorify the life of the wandering seafarers and will set out to travel with them after they finish school. Most city Roshi come back very fast as they aren't used to the harsher weather outside the cities, where it rains even in the day out at sea.

Plant life on Roshine is not very varied, mostly their is a small grassy plant that grows in small patches on the uninhabited shallow land. It is edible, but not very tasty. Small shrubs can also be cultivated that provide a small variety of fruits. Most Roshi eat sea animals, but they recently started learning how to make their own food, and are experimenting with bringing in plants from other worlds.

Personality: Aghlean is one of those Roshi with very strong wanderlust. She's an apprentice scientist on the team that is working on cultivating plants from outside their own planet. She grew up in one of the major cities of Roshine, but when she graduated school she left the city for the sea life. She traveled with a small band for nearly five years before she finally went back to the city. However, she soon grew restless again and used her high grades in school as leverage to get into a science facility. There she worked her way into the space travel team and has been happy ever since.

She's a fun loving, but smart and modest woman. When the scientist found out about the pageant they elected Aghlean, who refused at first but at their insistence accepted. She is in the competition only to meet new people and find out about possible planet resources for food. She has an unashamed sense of humor, which has often gotten her in trouble, but her sincere kindness usually helps others forgive her quickly.
